On Saturday, September 16, 2017, the monthly meeting of our Foundation’s college student scholarship holders was held. The interesting fact is that on this date sixteen years ago the first scholarship contract was signed, and two months later the first student scholarship contract as well.

Teacher Ramo began the meeting with an interesting anecdote and in his speech encouraged students to work hard and continually, be persistent and creative. The teacher talked about the cultural heritage and the wealth of it in our areas and added that “different areas will expose us to different ideas”.

The second part of the meeting was led by the Hastor Foundation director Seid Fijuljanin, who told us about everything that the Foundation is. The presentation followed the chronological development and the evolution of the Hastor Foundation from the initial 304 scholarship holders to the current number of 1,825 scholarship holders – an enviable number of young people whom the Foundation helps so they could become confident leaders in their communities. During the presentation the successes of the Foundation’s scholarship holders, the present and the former ones, were not neglected or forgotten, and the Foundation is very proud of them.

Our former scholarship holder Alem Merdic, who is currently an assistant at the Faculty of Economics, University of Zenica, attended this month’s meeting of the college student scholarship holders. Student of the decade, the Golden student of the Faculty of Economics in Zenica, recipient of Dean’s Award three years in a row – these are only some of many awards and recognitions that marked his academic education. Near the end of June he defended his second master’s thesis and on his path to success he didn’t forget the Foundation’s support. Alem used this opportunity to thank the Foundation for the unconditional support and mentioned its role in his accomplishments so far. He showed his gratitude in his master’s paper as well and reserved one part of the dedication for the Hastor Foundation. Alem read the dedication to those who were present, and gave his master’s paper to teacher Ramo.

According to the words director Fijuljanin said to those present in the hall, everyone should first and foremost be a good student, and then the ambassador of the Hastor Foundation’s idea, and that way a part of the driving force.

Everyone left the meeting proud to be a part of one good thing, one good mechanism, and one great family.
