The Hastor Foundation scholarship holder and a student of the Faculty of Agriculture in Sarajevo, a twenty-year-old Amila Mekic won the first prize at the National Karate Championship for younger seniors that took place on 14.11.2016.  in Tuzla.

This competition was, above all, special because this was the first time that all karate clubs from Bosnia and Herzegovina met at an event. Amila has been training karate for thirteen years, of which she spent seven at the club “Champions”. As she says her motivation in sport has never been money or any material gain but personal progress. The persistence of Amila Mekic can serve as an example to many.

“I would recommend to all young people to train karate, because for me, this sport did not provide a fortune in the financial sense, but it gave me a fortune in finding a huge number of friends, of course there is always rivalry among us, but still they are always there when you need any help. And finally, what describes a successful karate person is their modesty, and they are also expected to be an example to others and to be mentally strong to accomplish what they want. “, adds Amila to whom we wish the best luck and success in the years ahead.
