The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport of Bosnia-Podrinje Canton Goražde has adopted an adult training program for the profession of the plastics processing machine operator. Thanks to the fact that this program has been adopted, individuals aged 18 who had graduated from the high school will get a chance to become a plastics processing machine operators, which is a profession that is very much promising and sought after on the job market.

The goal of the program is to train the adults for doing the job of a plastics processing machine operator successfully and efficiently. Also, another goal is to train these people in accordance with the requirements on the job market, as well as to raise their chances for the employment.

An international expert and a local interdisciplinary group worked on the process of realization of this project. The local interdisciplinary group was composed of the representatives of The Ministry of Education, The Employment Agency of Bosnia-Podrinje Canton Goražde, The Secondary Technical School „Džemal Bijedić“ in Goražde, as well as of the representatives of The Hastor Foundation, PREVENT COMPONENTS Ltd. Goražde, and GIZ company from Germany.

The minister of education of Bosnia-Podrinje Canton Goražde pointed out the fact that the collaboration between educational institutions and companies is crucial to creating new workplaces.

„By observing the needs of the industry and the job market, The Ministry has established a training program for the profession of the plastics processing machine operator in collaboration with PREVENT COMPONENTS Ltd. Goražde, The Hastor Foundation, and German GIZ company. All the relevant parties were included in the process of creating this project. Taking part in the realization of this program was also made possible for the companies which hire the people with this profession, so as to ensure that the program meets all the requirements of the private sector. Establishing this project was only a part of the activities which have been realized by The Ministry and its partners within the scope of the general project IDEAL, which, in turn, has as its main goal establishing a modern, market-orientated, education system for plastics processing operators“, said the minister of education of Bosnia-Podrinje Canton in Goražde, Arman Bešlija, in a statement.

In addition, Bešlija pointed out that the adults would get a chance to be trained for this promising profession, which, at the same time, is a way to flatten the curves of unemployment and voluntary migration in the country.

The director of the Hastor Foundation, Seid Fijuljanin, specially expressed his satisfaction, provided that yet another successful activity has been realized within the framework of partnership among The Ministry of Education, PREVENT COMPONENTS Ltd., The Hastor Foundation, as well as German GIZ.

„The scope of the project has supported the establishment of standards meant to define the profession of the plastics processing machine operators, thus, Bosnia and Herzegovina has been enriched by a unique document which defines all the required knowledge and skills which need be possessed by a person, so that they can be eligible for doing this job for various employers within the private sector industry. Also, creating a curriculum for the profession in question has been welcomed. The curriculum, in turn, was inspired by the standards of the profession itself and adapted to the needs of the job market. An entire class of students received an opportunity to attend practical classes at companies in accordance with the new curriculum last year (in order for students to gain a practical insight into how the job is done). Now, we have decided to make a step forward regarding informal education, which resulted in the creation of the adult training program for the profession of the plastics processing machine operator, which was adopted by the Ministry of Education. The plastics industry is a sector that is developing rapidly in Bosnia and Herzegovina; hence it is devoid of qualified workers. New curricula, better collaboration between educational institutions and companies, and, with it, better qualifications on behalf of workers and students are of great importance for Prevent and other companies involved in this sector, so that future demand for manpower and qualified personnel can be met“, said Fijuljanin.

PREVENT COMPONENTS Ltd. Goražde, The Hastor Foundation, and German GIZ are on their way to implement the plan of the project „IDEAL – aiming towards progress and development for the plastics industry workers in Bosnia and Herzegovina“. Development partnership with PREVENT COMPONENTS Ltd. Goražde is a part of the develoPPP.de program which is coordinated by GIZ in the name of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development in Germany.
