Tarik Dacić is a true model of excellence and dedication in education and research. As a second-year student at the Second High School in Sarajevo, he stands out with exceptional academic results, a passion for natural sciences, programming, and foreign languages. With an average grade of 5.00 and exemplary behavior, Tarik serves as an inspiration to his peers as well as to younger and older students alike. He is also a proud scholarship recipient of the Hastor Foundation.
I learned about the Hastor Foundation through my cousin and decided to apply for the scholarship for gifted students. I passed the selection and became a scholarship recipient. In addition to the financial support I receive from the Hastor Foundation, which eases my life, I have met many wonderful young people and made new friendships through volunteering with this foundation. The Hastor Foundation, as I mentioned earlier, provides us not only with financial assistance but also new opportunities, broadening our horizons and striving to involve us in community events to help us achieve our dreams.
The Hastor Foundation proudly emphasizes that among its scholarship recipients are exceptional young scientists and great talents. Tarik’s journey into the world of science and mathematics began at an early age, and his love for this field is reflected in his numerous successes at competitions. His achievements include outstanding results at all levels of competition: from school, regional, to international. As a representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina, he excelled at the Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad and participated in the Iranian Geometric Olympiad and many other prestigious events.
His passion for natural sciences is also evident through his involvement in various projects. Tarik has not only successfully participated in Olympiads and competitions but is also engaged in international eTwinning projects. Through these projects, he has honed his skills in using dynamic mathematical software such as GeoGebra and Robocompass and was one of the instructors in online education on how to use Robocompass. This training, conducted in English, gathered participants from Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and other countries, showcasing Tarik’s capabilities in international education and collaboration.
In addition, Tarik has been involved for four years in the Mathematics School for Gifted Students at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Sarajevo and has participated twice in the popular science gathering “I Love Mathematics,” where he was one of the presenters. These activities are not just additional successes but also indicators of his dedication and love for mathematics and science.
His participation in numerous projects and clubs, including mathematics, informatics, physics, mobile app development, and shooting school, further highlights his versatility and desire for continuous learning and advancement. During the 2023/2024 school year, Tarik achieved notable results in geography, mathematics, and STEM competitions, with his representation of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the European Geography Olympiad being just one of the many challenges he has embraced.
The past year has been exceptionally successful for Tarik, who secured second place at the Federal Mathematics Competition and brought home two gold medals from the International STEM Olympiad in The Hague. Tarik Dacić is an example of a young genius whose achievements transcend local competitions and represent Bosnia and Herzegovina on the global stage. His journey serves as an inspiration to all young people striving for excellence and wishing to contribute to the world of science and education. We are confident that Tarik will continue to achieve outstanding results and remain a role model for future generations. We wish him all the best on this journey!
