On Saturday, 11th of February,at the premises of ASA Prevent group,  the monthly meeting of the Hastor Foundation scholarship holders was help. As with all meetings, this one was a great opportunity for our scholarship holders to get to know each other, exchange their knowledge and experiences, and also to learn something new.

We believe that motivation is the key factor for improvement and specialization. This is one of the reasons why we try so hard to introduce our scolarship holders with young, perspective and mostly successful people and with their inspiring life stories. Such a successful person is this month’s lecturer Darko Savić. He is currently the best kayaker in Bosnia and Hercegovina, a member of Kajak-kanu club Vrbas and a senior student of Physical education  and sport faculty in Banja Luka. With his accomplishments Darko Savić made it to the top of the kayaker scene and he is one of the most successful kayakers in the world.

He shared his life story with our students. He talked about the beginnings of his career and the barriers that he faced on his way to the top. At the beginning the support of the country was missing, but that didn’t discourage him and he bravely and persistently moved on. While his best colleagues were situated in the best hotels during the world competitions, Darko slept in his tent, and besides that he made great results. He shared his impressions from the meeting with the scholarship holders of with us, and to our scholarship holders and all the young people in Bosnia and Hercegovina  he recommended  to be persistent and to never give up when it comes to your dreams.

„Firstly, I’m glad for this opportunity to meet  such lovely and educated people with whom I will stay in contact. I’m happy that they are the future of Bosnia and Hercegovina, and with that fact we  can all be sure that our country remains in the right hands. One thing that I can recommend them is that they should never give up on their dreams. Even when they  come across an obstacle in life, they should know only the path is like that,  after it comes everything they dreamed of.“ Darko is proof that the  path of success is a hard one,but also an achievable one. We wish him good luck and a lot of medals in his career, and we are looking forward to seeing him again.
