The Hastor Foundation is a proud partner of the First posthumous retrospective exhibit of artwork by Mesard Berber, one of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s most celebrated artists. The exhibit is scheduled to be opened on 6th of July at the Sarajevo City Hall.
This exhibit is one of the most significant cultural events in Bosnia and Herzegovina this year, and numerous world-renowned art experts have already confirmed their attendance.
“Through its actions, the Hastor Foundation strives to contribute to the development of the society in its entirety. We believe that culture is one of the pillars necessary for the aforementioned development to take place and it is our pleasure to be a partner of the First posthumous exhibit of the distinguished Bosnian and Herzegovinian artist, Mersad Berber. Almost 10 years after having organized the 2008 Wolfsburg exhibit of the works of our painters Mersad Berber and Hamo Ibrulj, titled “European Art from Bosnia“, we are proud to once again have an opportunity to be a part of such a remarkable event,“ said Eldin Hadziselimovic, the chairman of the Hastor Foundation’s Board of Directors.
The exhibit at City Hall, on view from 7th of July until 7th of September, will feature all of Berber’s most significant opuses – from his beginnings at the university and works such as “In Honor of Velasquez“ woodcut, the “Skender-Vakuf” cycle, “Flora from Dubrovnik”, and “Srebrenica”, all the way to his final phase characterized by self-portraits. By participating in the organization of this exhibit, the Hastor Foundation wishes to join the efforts aimed towards presenting Bosnia and Herzegovina’s rich culture, tradition and mythology.
