Games and sports are an integral part of people of all ages and social statuses, especially with children and youth. Today, it’s becoming more of a tendency that each child develops not only their mental, emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions but also their psychophysical ones.

The impact of physical exercise on preserving and improving children’s health is immeasurable, and it allows for harmonic development of their anthropological characteristics. Sports and physical activity help children gain information on preserving and upgrading the health of an individual as well as the environment. This enables them to follow through and take action to develop and improve attributes, skills, bits of knowledge, and achievements.

To prove our scholarship holders take care of their physical as well as mental activity, we had Imran Tahmiščija tell us more about it. Imran is a fourth-grade student of the Zahid Baručija Elementary School in Vogošća. He’s been a Hastor Foundation scholarship holder since September 2020.

He’s been training Judo since 2019, and the scholarship helps him pay the club membership.

My beginnings in judo were unplanned and spontaneous, and that’s why I had no idea that judo will have a special place in my life.

In May this year, his coach decided to prepare and send him to the Judo Championship of the Federation of Bosna and Herzegovina. In his own words, he went there with jitters and insecurity but came back with a bronze medal in the -34 kg category.

Besides judo, he loves football, and he uses each opportunity to play. At the moment, he’s also interested in programming. Although he’s still in primary school, he already has a formed desire to get into programming and computers in general. His goal is to enroll in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering because he thinks that, with the knowledge gained there, he’d be able to help and support people like our Hastor Foundation helps its members. We wish Imran plenty of competition medals and all the best with his wish to enter the field of programming.
