Our scholarship holder Magdalena Ilić is an example that school obligations and extracurricular activities can be combined, and that one can be simultaneously very successful in both.

Magdalena Ilić is a scholarship holder of the Hastor Foundation who lives in Rogatica and is currently a ninth-grade student at the Saint Sava Elementary School Rogatica. She has shown love and dedication to learning since the first grade, having a 5.0 GPA throughout her studies. However, in addition to her love of school and learning, Magdalena also found her great passion in spending time with animals – she has been riding horses since she was four years old. For the last six years, she has also been practicing athletics, more specifically, the high jump. Due to her dedicated and hard work, Magdalena has been holding the title of BiH champion in high jump for five years, and she has simultaneously been winning the first places in long jump and hurdles. Magdalena has achieved notable results in athletics, and she has won 37 medals, of which 15 gold, 9 silver, 8 bronze and 5 others for participation in competitions. In addition, in 2019, she won the rally in Sremska Mitrovica, and victories were not absent at the competitions in Goražde and Sarajevo. She also won the finals of the “Nestle League” BiH and a hall rally in Sarajevo.

The Athletics Individual Championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina for senior pioneers, which was held in May of this year in Tuzla, was of great importance for Magdalena’s athletic success. Twenty eight clubs participated in this competition, and as a representative of the Serbian Athletic Club Rogatica and the Jumping School Mićević, our Magdalena also participated, winning a gold medal with a superior high jump. After winning the indoor title, she also won the open-air title.

I have been a Hastor Foundation scholarship holder for almost two years. It helps me a lot in every sense, and especially gives me an incentive to continue and fight for greater and better success. A huge thank you to our Foundation because it is the only one that recognized my talent and provided me with financial assistance, and I am glad that it supports all of us young people, because its help means a lot to us. I hope to be your proud scholarship holder for a long time to come.
