A great example that it is possible to achieve top results in various fields is the Hastor Foundation scholarship holder Amina Fazlić who, despite difficult situations on the global and private level, managed to maintain focus on her education and be the best in various competitions in which she participated.
Amina was born on the 12th of December 2005 in Pula in the Republic of Croatia and currently lives with his mother in Šamac. Ever since she was a child, she constantly strived to follow her dreams and be the best in everything she loves, but primarily in knowledge. Thus, even before going to primary school, she learned English, which she still loves and which opened the way for her to learn other foreign languages, expand her horizons and see what kind of richness foreign languages actually offer. However, she did not stop only at learning English, because at the age of 5 she started attending Islamic religious studies in a mosque in Šamac. Amina attended Islamic religious studies for 10 years and during that period she achieved many successes and first places in competitions organized in the field of said studies. She states that these successes are something she is very proud of because she managed to acquire great knowledge and because she loved Islamic religious studies from an early age and grew up with them. In 2012, Amina enrolled in the first grade of the Elementary School “Šamac”. During her primary education, in addition to school obligations, she was a regular member of many extracurricular activities, so in 2018 she won first place in the school, municipal, regional and national competition together with her school choir.
Although she showed her talent, effort and commitment through her successes in the fields of Islamic religious studies, foreign languages and music, she did not stop there. She continued to study other sciences as she has a great love for physics and mathematics. Her love for these subjects, along with great commitment, led to the fact that in 2019 she won first place in physics in the school competition and third place in the municipal competition. The following year, Amina won first place in the field of physics in the school competition and fourth place in the municipal competition. Perhaps the best proof of Amina’s great love for learning is that during this year when, despite the loss of her father and grandmother, she managed to participate in competitions in mathematics and physics within six months, but also to win places worthy of praise and mention – third place in mathematics and second place in physics in school competitions. All these events were the reason 2021 was to be both the best and the worst year for Amina so far. However, these difficult situations did not weaken Amina’s resolve to finish her primary education with the title of “valedictorian” since she is the only student in her generation who finished all grades of primary school with an average grade of 5.00. In addition to this special title, Amina received three more special diplomas in the subjects: physics, music and Islamic religious studies.
This year she successfully enrolled in the Behram-beg madrasa in Tuzla. Amina likes to spend her free time with family and friends and draw, write and learn about the calligraphy of the Arabic language. Amina inherited her love of foreign languages from her father, who spoke three languages perfectly and who sadly passed away, and actively speaks English, German, Italian, and still learns Arabic in her spare time. However, Amina points out that she still prefers to use her free time to volunteer at the Hastor Foundation, where she helps children with their school subjects in the form of classes where she selflessly shares her knowledge.
I have been a proud member of the Hastor Foundation since 2014. The Hastor Foundation is one big family that was there for me when I was having a hard time and a community that restored my faith that I would still be able to successfully finish my education and move forward in life and a Foundation that teaches us all the important qualities of humanity.
We wish Amina a lot of success and happiness in her future education and that she stays versatile and full of love for knowledge because we believe that the seed of knowledge she started planting from a young age will grow into a rose of success that will smell wonderful forever!
