Even after completing their education and not being a scholarship holder of the Hastor Foundation anymore, every scholarship holder is still considered a significant part of the collective. Their successes are closely monitored and proudly shared because of the Foundation has at least partially contributed to their realization. Below is the story of former scholarship holder Mirza Murga, who is a dentist by profession.

Mirza Murga is originally from Livno and he graduated from the Elementary school “Fra Lovro Karaula“, and then the Gymnasium Livno in his hometown. After high school, he enrolled and graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry with the clinics of the University of Sarajevo. After graduating, he was in dilemma whether, like a large number of young people, to leave the country and accept one of the offers abroad or make a step forward and try to pursue a career in his hometown. Mirza decides for the latter and returns to Livno, where the story of his career development begins.

He was a scholarship holder of the Hastor Foundation for a full ten years, during his entire high school and academic education.

As a Hastor Foundation scholarship holder, I felt the greatest support during my studies. I felt I had the backbone and support in the new city I came to study. Through the Foundation, I learned a lot about discipline in working and understanding others. I met a lot of interesting people and even more life stories of young individuals and gained friendships that I intend to nurture for long time.

As a scholarship holder, he volunteered in his hometown of Livno, and then in Sarajevo. He was a member of the administrative team and participated in various activities of the Foundation.

I had multiple mentoring groups and it used to be quite fun, especially when combined with other mentors. Young people need to be educated and activated, and volunteer activities are a good way to achieve both goals.

Through his work, he constantly emphasizes the benefits that the scholarship holders of the Foundation receive, and especially the acquisition of new friendships and the development of work habits that are very useful in further work after graduation. The Foundation has forever occupied a special place in his life, and he tells our fellows:

The Hastor Foundation is truly an extraordinary organization that helps young people. It feels great to be a part of it so make the most of the time you spend as her scholarship holders.
