The Hastor Foundation has officially launched its mentorship program, “First Step into the Business World.” This new form of support for scholarship holders is a first for the Hastor Foundation, offering students a unique opportunity to receive mentorship from experts in fields related to their studies or their future career aspirations. This mentorship encompasses: new knowledge, education, experience, advice, opportunities, motivation, networking, skill enhancement, personal development, and moral support. By learning from experienced professionals, acquiring new knowledge, and receiving practical advice through the mentorship program, students will develop their skills and enhance the competencies needed for the job market: analytical thinking, active learning, creativity, critical thinking, etc.
Regarding the value of this opportunity for Hastor Foundation scholarship holders, the Foundation’s director, Lejla Đonlagić, emphasized:
The mentorship program is just one of a number of benefits we offer our scholarship holders, which will provide them with additional knowledge, skills, and competencies, making them more competitive in the job market. This will be their first step into the business world, which we are confident will be a strong motivation for their professional development, staying, and advancing in their homeland, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The opportunity for the mentorship program in the initial phase was given to the most successful scholarship students of the Hastor Foundation who, in addition to their academic success and high GPA, continuously, selflessly, dedicatedly, and responsibly contribute to the work of the Hastor Foundation through their volunteer engagements.
By acquiring new knowledge, improving existing ones, strengthening skills, and introducing students to the business environment during their studies, the Foundation aims to create conditions for stimulating students’ career development and strengthening the competencies needed for the job market, thereby achieving the program’s main goal, which is to empower young people to become self-aware leaders in their communities.
The opportunity to participate in the first cycle of the mentorship program was granted to valuable scholarship holders of the Hastor Foundation who stand out for their academic success, dedication to volunteer engagement in the Hastor Foundation, and their desire to learn and gain new valuable experiences. They successfully passed a two-phase test and deserved to get this invaluable opportunity and become the first generation of participants in the mentorship program.

Venesa Karić, a scholarship holder of the Hastor Foundation and a student at the Faculty of Education and Humanities, is one of those who received this great opportunity:
I am extremely grateful for this opportunity because I will have the privilege of learning from top experts like Indira Musić, marketing manager at ASA Hospital. Getting to know Indira better and hearing about her experience firsthand is a great privilege for me. I am sure that this experience will help me further develop my knowledge and skills in areas that interest me most, such as digital communications, marketing, and public relations. Also, I believe that this mentorship will significantly impact my personal growth and development and motivate me to achieve more in my career.
The mentorship program is supported by our ASA Group and its member ASA Hospital, whose employees, seasoned professionals in their fields, will serve as mentors to our scholarship holders and thus selflessly share their knowledge, skills, and experience with our scholarship holders.
Dr. Aida Gavranović, a specialist in emergency medicine, emphasized that she looks forward to the beginning of the program implementation and her participation in it:
The mentorship program is a great idea and opportunity for students. As soon as I got information about the start of the mentorship program, I immediately gave my full support. We want our students, young people, to stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina and build their ideas and families here.
We thank the ASA Group and ASA Hospital for their support and wish all participants a successful implementation of activities within the mentorship program.
