In the school and academic year 2025/2026, we continued with the work of our clubs for instructional classes. The clubs are an innovative approach to individualized instructional support, which has shown itself in previous years, as well as in the current year, as an extremely suitable model. This initiative came to life as a response to the needs of our scholarship students, and it was designed so that each club covers a specific area of knowledge, while student scholarship holders take on the role of mentors, sharing knowledge from the fields in which they stand out.
Students are divided into seven clubs, each of which has a specialized field it focuses on. One of the currently most popular ones is the Mathematics and Physics Club; besides mathematics and physics, our tutors also offer help in related fields of natural and mathematical sciences. The approach to each student is adjusted to their individual needs, goals, and learning outcomes.
The Mathematics and Physics Club currently has 31 female and male students, and it is led by the club coordinator Meliha Delalić. The main task of the club is planning and providing free instructional classes intended for primary and secondary school students. Most participants are our younger scholarship holders, but from this school year, we have also opened our doors to students who are not part of the Hastor Foundation family; their guardians reached out to us for help, which we gladly accepted.
A special value to the club’s work is given by the experiences of the participants themselves. Students who have gone through our program speak about the progress they have achieved, and their words best show the importance of this type of support. We are especially happy to hear about successfully mastered material with the help of our student mentors, which ultimately results in improved grades and better success – and in one of our cases, also preparation for a school competition. This is enough proof of the potential of our students, which quickly becomes visible when adequate learning support is provided. On this occasion, we highlight messages from students to their mentors, as well as the perspective of our students who are responsible for the positive results of the students.
I would like to praise my mathematics instructor Bahta Halilović. I learned a lot from her during our workshops. She is very kind, patient while teaching, and explains everything clearly and in detail. She is attentive towards me and is always ready to help. All praise for her work! It is not difficult for her to help me with other subjects as well. I would like to have classes with her in the eighth grade too.

My experience in this club is truly wonderful, and I am very satisfied with the work during the workshops. Students are interested, regular, and motivated to work, and I am especially happy that all of my students made progress and improved their grades. As a special example, I would highlight Arisa Delić and Amina Martinović, who achieved excellent results after the workshops and showed great progress. Such successes are my biggest motivation and confirmation that our work has meaning. I would also like to praise my mentor for her support, patience, and help throughout the entire semester. She is always available for questions and advice, which meant a lot to me and made my work much easier. All in all, I have only words of praise for the club, the organization, and the whole team.

I want to share my wonderful experience with Emina, who teaches classes as part of your foundation. I have only words of praise for her work, effort, and persistence to explain every lesson and every task in the best possible way. Emina transfers knowledge in a wonderful way, the classes are very interesting, and her explanations helped me master the material easily. Thanks to her support and dedication, I managed to improve my grades, which I am very proud of. I am very grateful to the Hastor Foundation for this opportunity, and especially to Emina, who is a great motivation for me.

It feels a little ungrateful to write about my own successes, so I decided to do it this way – through feedback from the student with whom I achieved the best results. Our success is that we went from difficulties and needing instructions for regular school classes to preparing, a few months ago, for a school mathematics competition, where Arisa showed herself very well. That is my biggest reward for all the effort. Also, I cannot fail to praise our club coordinator Meliha, who is always there for us and always has understanding for everything. She made my work in the club much easier because of her understanding and flexibility. I like that we have a friendly relationship that is mutually built. I think that such an environment gives the best results in work.

The words of our students and mentors best confirm the success of the Mathematics and Physics Club during the past school year, both when it comes to positive student results and successfully overcoming difficulties with the material, but also regarding the general functioning of the team, made up of our best students who are always ready to help in the best way and also offer a friendly hand, which is one of the key recipes for success.
