Volunteering is wealth without money because there is no greater material satisfaction than the fact that you managed to restore a person’s faith in people. The volunteers of the Hastor Foundation do exactly that, every day: they restore faith in good people and prove that only the true life values of goodness, effort and commitment last. They come back double. One of the large number of our former and current scholarship recipients who stand out for their empathy, philanthropy and who really see volunteering as a way of life is Lejla Ramić.

Lejla is the winner of a double badge at the Faculty of Law of the University of Sarajevo, where she is currently employed as a senior assistant. In the third episode of the Hastor Foundation Podcast, Lejla conveyed to us with all her heart the benefits of volunteering, which is a symbol of the work of the Hastor Foundation. As she told us, from today’s perspective, she looks at volunteer days and the role of a mentor a little differently and more seriously. The most important thing for her was that she could make it easier for someone and help them with their daily duties:

By volunteering, we grow together. It doesn’t matter in what form the help comes. The most precious thing is to share our time with someone. It was a pleasure to be able to contribute to others. Even today, after five years, when they contact me and ask for some advice, recommendations and to see each other, then I realize that this is really an enormous influence.

Given that Lejla is currently a senior assistant at the Faculty of Law of the University of Sarajevo, we touched on the topic of knowledge and education with her. She points out that everything she is today is the result of education:

Knowledge is the foundation and key to everything – the development of my personality, prosperity and understanding. We tame the evil in us with knowledge. We distinguish what is not useful to us – stereotypes, prejudices, etc. We would hardly be able to recognize this without education.

It is evident from Lejla’s story that it is very important in life to take advantage of all the opportunities that are available to us. More beautiful anecdotes of this successful young girl are available by clicking on the link:
