If you can dream, you can make it come true, are the words that our guest proves in the new episode of the Hastor Foundation Podcast.
Samira Haskić, head of the IT platform service at BH Telecom, is one of the most outstanding former scholarship holders that the Hastor Foundation can boast of and who are also the only true result of our perseverance for 18 years and proof that success in Bosnia and Herzegovina is only possible with your own knowledge and abilities. Our alumni, despite numerous opportunities to leave Bosnia and Herzegovina, decided to make a maximum contribution to her community and use all the benefits and resources that we really have:
Every time I had that call, I said let’s try to stay to see what I can do, to see how much I can contribute to my community here. We always start from some of our small environments, in which we are, in the society in which we move, friends, family… Let’s try to make as much, as good a space as possible with the resources we have. We have really, really good resources. First of all, we are very hardworking and intelligent people.
Samira’s already rich work experience brought her numerous challenges. Among other things, this successful young lady managed a team made up exclusively of men, became an authority for older colleagues and all of this taught her, the most important thing, to keep her own values and respect others’, but also to admit her mistakes:
The establishment of authority, in fact, taught me to only confirm the principles by which I was guided. We really have to have integrity, self-respect and respect for ourselves and our work colleagues and to be sure of the decisions we make, that they are not imposed on us and time will show that we were right. The worst thing you can do is make a mistake and not record your mistake. So, we are human, we make mistakes and it is inevitable.
