The world of diplomacy is not something we deal with every day. Through a story with a former scholar, Džulisa Otuzbir, we will find out what is hidden behind the phrase of the diplomatic world. Džulisa is a graduate of political science and an ambassador of the first generation of young ambassadors of the Western Balkans.
At the beginning of the conversation, Žulisa gives us a brief insight into the world of diplomacy. She briefly explained to us what it looks like from her point of view and what she does:
Diplomacy is the termination of conflicts by non-violent means. Any conflict prevention is diplomacy. It was interesting to me, even when I was younger, that maybe one day I would contribute to the image of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the international scene. That’s why I decided to write exactly this.
Our interlocutor also talks about her experience as an ambassador. He points out that its main goal is to present the country and the region in the best light:
We do this through participation in various conferences and seminars. We are trying to show our peers from the EU how similar we are, how much there are no differences between us. In our country, as ambassadors, we participate in various projects and volunteering. We try to be a good example for others.
Đulisa is an example of how each of us can be a bearer of the good values of the area we come from and present it to the world in the best possible way.
